Deputy Nursery Manager – Whitemans Green, West Sussex – £34,000 – £35,000 per annum
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
We’re recruiting for an experienced and passionate Deputy Nursery Manager to join a well-established early years setting in West Sussex. Set within beautiful surroundings, including access to outdoor learning spaces and a dedicated Forest School area, this nursery provides children with enriching opportunities to learn, explore, and thrive through play, creativity, and hands-on experiences. This is a fantastic opportunity for a current Deputy Manager or Third in Charge looking to take the next step in their career. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you’ll help lead and inspire the team while ensuring the highest standards of care and early years education.

The Role
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will:
- Support the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Lead and motivate staff to deliver exceptional care and education
- Ensure high-quality EYFS practice throughout the setting
- Maintain safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance standards
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Support staff development and continuous improvement
- Monitor children’s progress and promote inclusive learning opportunities
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience working within an early years setting
- Previous experience as a Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Deputy Manager
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
