1.Purpose?
Tinies is committed to preventing modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation in all areas of our operations, including our branch network, supply chains and childcare placements.
Although Tinies does not operate in a high-risk sector, we maintain vigilant safeguarding and recruitment practices that actively help to prevent exploitation. This policy complements the Company’s safeguarding, vetting and conduct requirements.
2. What is Modern Slavery?
Modern slavery includes:
forced or compulsory labour
human trafficking
servitude or exploitation
coercion or abuse of power for personal or commercial gain
3. Our Commitments
Tinies will:
conduct rigorous vetting and Right to Work checks in line with immigration and safeguarding legislation
maintain transparent recruitment and pay practices
ensure all workers are free to leave employment with appropriate notice
partner only with reputable suppliers and training providers
act immediately on any suspicion of exploitation or trafficking
4.Responsibilities
Employees must:
report concerns immediately, either internally to a manager or externally to safeguarding authorities where appropriate
never engage with, enable or benefit from any form of exploitation
Managers must:
ensure compliance with vetting, DBS, identity and reference checks
escalate any concerns to the Managing Director
5.Reporting Concerns
Concerns may be raised under:
safeguarding procedures, if a child or vulnerable adult is at risk
the Whistleblowing Policy, for suspected illegal or unethical practices
Employee Handbook guidance
Concerns will always be handled confidentially.
6. Breach of Policy
Engaging in, enabling or benefiting from modern slavery practices will result in disciplinary action and may be reported to the relevant authorities.
7. Review and Updates
This policy is reviewed annually and whenever there are significant changes to systems, risks or regulatory requirements.
