The age range is 3-4 years. (Pre-School.)
To be considered for this Room Leader role candidates must have:
• A level 3 or above qualification in Childcare / Early Years
• A good knowledge of the EYFS framework and Ofsted standards
• Previous nursery experience
• Excellent communication skills and able to work well in a team
• A sound understanding of children’s individual needs and development
• Paediatric first aid and safeguarding level 2 is desirable / training can be provided
Responsibilities will include:
• To manage the nursery room and lead a small team effectively, creating a happy and nurturing environment for the children to grow and develop
• Planning and carrying out a wide range of activities indoors and outdoors
• General childcare duties
• Implementing the EYFS framework, carrying out observations and recording development
• Supporting a key group of children
• Working closely with parents, carers and colleagues
• To attend regular team and staff meetings and training days
• To provide support and mentor students / staff who are training
Days and hours for this Room Manager job are Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week, worked on a shift basis covering the opening hours of the nursery with a combination of early and late finishes.
The salary being offered is £14.00 per hour, negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
