Job Description:

  • Permanent Long Term Nanny – Hampstead

    Location: Hampstead, London

    Start Date: 21st September 2026

    Days: Monday–Friday

Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week

Salary: £20–£25 gross per hour, depending on experience

Children: Girl aged 5 and boy aged 9 months

A warm and welcoming family of four in Hampstead is looking for a reliable, nurturing and confident nanny to join them on a long-term basis.

The family is looking for someone who will build a strong relationship with both children and encourage independence, good manners and learning through everyday life. They value free play and want a nanny who can provide kind but clear boundaries while creating a happy and supportive environment.

    Proposed Schedule

    1 full day: 9:00am–6:30pm

    1 longer day: 2:00pm–9:00pm

    3 days: 2:00pm–6:30pm

There is flexibility around which days are longer for the right candidate.

    Key Duties

Collecting the 5-year-old from school and the baby from his childminder

Supporting the baby with weaning, bottle preparation, nappy changing and his daily routine

Supporting the eldest child with homework and schoolwork

Taking the children to activities such as swimming and gymnastics

    Arranging and facilitating playdates

Preparing healthy snacks for both children

Encouraging free play, independence and age-appropriate responsibilities

Providing kind but consistent boundaries and encouraging good manners

Children’s/family laundry and light household duties

Keeping children’s areas and belongings organised

Purchasing occasional household or children’s supplies

Occasional evening babysitting and potential additional hours

    Family Cooking

An important part of the role will be preparing a healthy family dinner five days per week.

The family can provide recipes and meal ideas but would also welcome the nanny’s own suggestions. The afternoon hours before school pick-up will provide dedicated time for cooking and light household duties.

    The Ideal Nanny

The family is looking for someone who is warm, reliable, flexible, organised and confident caring for both a baby and a school-aged child.

Strong communication is important, along with the ability to take feedback and work collaboratively with the parents. The nanny should be comfortable encouraging independent play while also being proactive in arranging suitable activities and playdates.

A high standard of English is required to support the children’s language development and schoolwork. Dutch or Hebrew would be a bonus but is not essential.

Candidates will require an Enhanced DBS, Paediatric First Aid and excellent checkable references.
