Afternoon Nanny – £20 per hour – Coventry – Permanent
- Hours: Thursday, Friday and Saturday (or Sunday) afternoons
- Time: 1pm-4pm or 2pm-5pm
- Children: aged 4 and 2 years old
A lovely family who have recently returned to the UK after spending a year abroad are seeking a warm, engaging and proactive nanny to support their two young children.
This role is ideally suited to a nanny who genuinely enjoys interacting with young children, naturally incorporates conversation into play and daily routines, and is passionate about supporting language and communication development through fun and engaging experiences.
The family’s eldest is 4 years old, with youngest sibling aged 2. They are keen to help both children continue developing their English language skills through play, exploration, social opportunities and meaningful day-to-day interactions.
The Role
You will take the lead in planning enjoyable and stimulating afternoon activities that reflect the children’s interests and developmental stages, both at home and within the local community.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate activities and experiences
- Supporting the children’s English communication and language development through play and conversation
- Encouraging confidence, independence and social interaction
- Attending local groups, activities and classes
- Creating fun learning opportunities that support development and wellbeing
- Providing attentive, nurturing and responsive care at all times
- Encouraging positive interactions and inclusive play between the siblings
- Supporting the youngest child to join in activities with her older sister when appropriate
- Maintaining a tidy, organised environment within the home
- Keeping children’s play areas, toys, clothing and belongings clean and well organised

- Has experience caring for young children
- Is warm, energetic and naturally engaging
- Confidently communicates with children and encourages conversation
- Has a genuine interest in supporting early language and communication development
- Is proactive, creative and able to plan activities independently
- Enjoys getting out and about to local activities, groups and classes
- Can foster a positive and supportive sibling relationship
- Is organised, reliable and takes pride in maintaining children’s spaces
