Job Description:

    40 hours a week
    £36,000 per annum
    Nottingham 
    Nursery Manager Role:

    • To lead the Deputy Manager, Third in Charge and Room Leaders to ensure the highest

    standards of Early Years care and education across the setting

    • To maintain an organised, safe and stimulating nursery environment

    • To keep accurate records and ensure procedures are followed throughout the nursery

    • To help build and maintain a reputation as the setting of choice in the area for both children

    and employees

    • To model and monitor best practice in accordance with regulatory guidelines

    • To support and inspire your team across the nursery

    • To oversee the induction of new team members, welcoming them into the Kindred family

    Your responsibilities:

    • Use a friendly approach with parents and carers, children, and colleagues

    • Provide a safe, stimulating, and educational environment for the children to learn, play,

    explore and develop

    • Maintain a homely environment for all children, which is clean and organised

    • Oversee the implementation of interesting and inspiring activities for children to learn

    through play

    • Have the responsibility to ensure that children’s interests and achievements are recorded

    through observations or reports

    • Communicate with parents/carers through our Satchel app, face to face meetings or in

    writing

    • Manage the nursery staff deployment to ensure it is always compliant with legal ratios

    • Understand and implement the company Policies and Procedures, Pedagogy and core values

    across the nursery

    • Safeguarding is a shared responsibility to protect children, parents, and staff from harm

    Leadership responsibilities:

    • Oversee the day to day running and operations of the nursery

    • Work closely with your team to create a shared vision of the setting

    • Lead by example and model good practice

    • Supervise, support, and allocate tasks and duties to your team

    • Have regular supervision meetings with your team to discuss their strengths and areas for

    improvement

    • Conduct interviews for internal and external applicants

    • Take lead with new starter inductions, mentoring of new staff and integrating them into the

    Kindred family

    • Respond to complaints and concerns that are raised to the management team

    • Conduct nursery tours with confidence and a sound knowledge of the registration process,

    selling all available spaces

    • Complete administrative processes accurately and according to deadlines

    • Ensure that we are compliant with statutory guidelines, company policies and procedures,

    and risk assessments

    • Work with the wider Kindred family to meet KPI’s, budgets and nursery specific targets

    • Prepare for audits and inspections that will take place within the nursery

    • Be a key holder for the nursery

    Other responsibilities:

    • Attend and actively deliver staff meetings and training, parent information sessions and

    functions as appropriate; including marketing events and activities that may run during the

    evening or at the weekend

    • Participate in wider company activities and projects; training sessions and meetings that are

    held at other locations including Head Office

    Requirements:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail

    • Provide outstanding customer service

    • Have good time management, meeting deadlines

    • Experience of leading and managing a team

    • Hold a full and relevant Early Years Level 3 Childcare Qualification or higher

    • Demonstrate sound knowledge of the EYFS and OFSTED guidelines
