Job Description:

  • Nursery Manager – Quality & Leadership Focus

Full Time | £14.72 per hour

Are you an experienced Nursery Manager who is passionate about quality and knows what an outstanding early years setting should look and feel like?

We are recruiting for a confident and inspirational Nursery Manager who can lead from the front, develop a strong team and ensure consistently high standards of care and education.  This role would suit an experienced early years leader who understands that quality goes beyond compliance. You will be visible within the nursery, confident in challenging and improving practice, and able to create a culture where children, families and colleagues thrive.

    The Role
As Nursery Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the setting, with a strong focus on quality, safeguarding, team development and continuous improvement.
    You will:

    • Lead, motivate and develop the nursery team, setting clear expectations for high-quality practice
    • Drive continuous improvement across the setting and confidently challenge practice where standards are not being met
    • Maintain a strong understanding of the EYFS statutory framework and safeguarding requirements
    • Ensure children’s individual needs, learning and development remain at the heart of nursery practice
    • Be confident in preparing for and leading the team through Ofsted inspections
    • Ensure staff understand the quality of education being delivered and can confidently talk about their practice
    • Embed a strong safeguarding culture throughout the nursery
    • Carry out observations, supervisions and performance conversations that genuinely improve practice
    • Build positive and professional relationships with parents and families
    • Lead by example and maintain a visible presence across the nursery
    • Ensure policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are consistently followed

    About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

    • A recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
    • Strong Nursery Manager or senior early years leadership experience
    • A thorough understanding of the EYFS
    • Confidence around Ofsted inspections and regulatory requirements
    • A genuine passion for quality and continuous improvement
    • The ability to identify areas for development and implement meaningful change
    • Strong people-management skills, with the confidence to have difficult conversations when needed
    • A supportive but accountable leadership style
    • Excellent safeguarding knowledge
    • Strong communication and organisational skills

    The Person We’re Looking For

This isn’t a role for someone who simply wants to keep things ticking over.

We’re looking for a strong, hands-on leader who takes pride in the quality of their setting and understands how to bring a team with them. You’ll know what good practice looks like, have the confidence to challenge when something isn’t right and, importantly, be able to coach and support your team to improve. You’ll be comfortable with Ofsted, confident discussing your nursery’s curriculum and practice, and passionate about creating an environment where high expectations and nurturing care go hand in hand.

    Apply Today
If you’re an experienced early years leader ready to take ownership of a setting and make a real impact on its quality, we’d love to hear from you.
