About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Nursery Manager to join a busy and welcoming nursery in PE1, providing maternity cover until March 2027.
Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the nursery and help ensure consistently high standards of care, safeguarding, learning and development.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional looking to take the next step in their career or build on their existing leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Nursery Manager with the effective day-to-day operation of the nursery
Help lead, support and motivate the nursery team to provide high-quality childcare
Maintain high standards of care, learning and development throughout the setting
Support staff with planning and delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate activities
Ensure safeguarding procedures, nursery policies and health and safety requirements are followed consistently
Act as a positive role model and provide guidance and support to colleagues
Help maintain appropriate records and documentation
Build strong relationships with children, parents, carers and other professionals
Support staff development and contribute to maintaining a positive working environment
Deputise for the Nursery Manager when required
Help ensure the nursery provides a welcoming, inclusive, safe and stimulating environment for every child
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has strong experience working within an Early Years or nursery environment
Has previous senior, Room Leader, supervisory or management experience
Is confident supporting, motivating and leading a team
Has excellent communication and organisational skills
Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and children’s welfare
Is passionate about delivering high-quality Early Years care and education
Can build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
Is proactive, dependable and confident taking responsibility
Holds a relevant Early Years/Childcare qualification or equivalent
