About the Role
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Childminder Assistant to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality childcare in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.
This role involves assisting with the daily running of the childcare setting, supporting children’s learning and development, and helping to create a happy and stimulating environment where children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Support the planning and delivery of engaging play-based activities that encourage children’s learning and development.
Encourage, listen to, and support children during play and learning activities.
Assist children with personal care needs, including toileting, changing clothes, hygiene routines, and mealtimes.
Support children and staff during outings, trips, and community activities.
Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming childcare environment.
Follow health and safety procedures and ensure equipment is suitable and safe for children.
Follow safeguarding procedures and be aware of child protection responsibilities.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and infection control.
Complete required records and paperwork accurately, including attendance records, incident reports, and daily checks.
Build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, colleagues, and other professionals.
Communicate effectively with the childcare provider and raise any concerns appropriately.
Maintain confidentiality and respect children’s and families’ privacy at all times.
Attend training and development opportunities to support professional growth.
Hours & Pay
Flexible working hours available depending on childcare requirements.
Competitive hourly rate of £14.00 per hour.
Additional hours paid at the same hourly rate.
Pay reviewed annually.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
A genuine interest in working with young children.
Caring, patient, and supportive approach.
Reliable and responsible attitude.
Good communication skills.
Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
Desirable:
Early Years qualification or childcare experience.
Enhanced DBS check.
Paediatric First Aid training.
