  • Job Specification: Early Years Practitioner (Level 3)

    Location: DA14
    Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
    Salary: £24,500 - £27,000 per annum

    About the Setting:

    This warm and welcoming nursery is dedicated to providing educational excellence and comprehensive child care for children aged 3 months to pre-school. With a strong focus on delivering high-quality early education, we are now looking for an experienced Pre-School Room Leader to join our team. If you are passionate about early years education and want to make a real difference in children's lives, we would love to hear from you! Our setting is conveniently located close to both train and bus links, with the added benefit of free parking on site.

    What We Need From You:
    Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or higher).
    Commitment to providing outstanding childcare and education.
    Passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
    Ability to work well within a team and demonstrate leadership skills.
    Broad knowledge of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and safeguarding procedures.

    Your Duties Will Include:
    Taking charge of a key group of children, ensuring their welfare, development, and education.
    Planning and delivering rich learning opportunities that support children’s development and meet their individual milestones.
    Providing effective care, teaching, and learning, fostering a love for learning in all children.
    Safeguarding and promoting the health, safety, and welfare of children at all times.
    Collaborating with colleagues, parents, carers, and other professionals to meet the individual needs of each child.
    Using assessment to monitor progress and tailor learning to the needs and interests of the children.
    Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team to deliver exceptional care and education.
    Ensuring the learning environment is stimulating, engaging, and well-organized, both indoors and outdoors.
    Promoting and ensuring the adherence to safeguarding procedures and policies at all times.
    Maintaining a positive, happy, and safe environment for both children and staff.

    Ideal Candidate:
    A proactive, committed individual with a genuine passion for early years education.
    Experience in a similar role, ideally within a pre-school or nursery setting.
    Strong leadership and teamworking skills, with the ability to guide and support others.
    A detailed knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and the ability to apply it effectively in practice.
    A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
