Role Overview
Days: Monday to Thursday (3 day weekend!)
Hours: 07:30-17:45
Salary: £13.50 gross per hour (Level 3 Early Years Educator)
This setting based in Market Harborough are looking for a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join their team and provide high-quality care and education to the children. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), experience working with young children, and a love for outdoor learning. This role involves supporting children’s development, planning engaging activities, and fostering a safe and stimulating environment where they can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
1. Child Development & Learning – Support the learning and development of children by implementing the EYFS framework through engaging, play-based activities.
2. Outdoor Learning & Exploration – Plan and lead nature-based activities that encourage children to explore, learn, and connect with the natural world.
3. Safe & Nurturing Environment – Ensure the safety, well-being, and happiness of all children while promoting independence and confidence.
4. Observation & Assessment – Monitor children’s progress, complete observations, and contribute to individual learning plans.
5. Health & Safety Compliance – Conduct risk assessments, maintain cleanliness, and follow all safeguarding policies to ensure a safe environment.
6. Positive Relationships – Build strong, trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a supportive learning community.
7. Behaviour Management & Inclusion – Support children in developing social skills, emotional resilience, and positive behaviour strategies.
8. Collaboration & Teamwork – Work closely with colleagues to plan and deliver a high-quality early years curriculum and contribute to the smooth daily running of the nursery.
9. Parent Communication – Provide regular updates to parents about their child’s progress and well-being, encouraging their involvement in the learning journey.
10. Professional Development – Engage in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and stay up to date with best practices in early years education.
Requirements
• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or working towards it).
• Experience working with children in an early years setting.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding.
• Passion for outdoor learning and nature-based education.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain).
