About The Setting: Our client is a well-established After School Club located in Glasgow’s West End, providing a safe, fun, and stimulating environment for children after school. Their focus is on delivering high-quality childcare, engaging activities, and fostering a positive experience for both children and staff.
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Member of Staff to support the Club Manager and provide leadership during their expected time off. This role involves assisting in the day-to-day management of the club, leading and supporting staff, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children. Given the nature of the role, there is a strong possibility of it becoming a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities: • Support the Childcare Co-ordinator in the daily running of the After School Club. • Supervise, lead, and motivate a team of childcare practitioners. • Ensure a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for all children. • Plan and oversee engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of children. • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. • Act as the main point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing queries and concerns professionally. • Assist in administrative duties, including attendance records, staff rotas, and incident reporting. • Promote positive behaviour management strategies.
Person Specification: Essential: • Previous experience working in an After School Club or similar childcare setting. • Experience leading, supporting and managing staff. • Working knowledge of child protection and health & safety regulations. • Excellent communication and organisational skills. • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when required.
