This Nursery setting in Potters Bar are recruiting for a Early Years Practitioner to join the nursery team if you are newly qualified or have nursery experience this position would be great for you.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
? Complete observations on and assessment standards, Canopy curriculum to ensure a child centered approach and complete the observations on and planning process meets the needs of all children in line with the Quality Assurance Framework
? Deliver the highest care and educations on standards, support, and carryout key person 1-1 supervision meetings with families and other professionals to support child development and child achieving their personal milestones and the EYFS and Canopy curriculum and child achieving their personal milestones and the EYFS and Canopy curriculum and regulatory standards.
? Ensuring internal policies and procedures and legislations from governing bodies are adhered to and you can demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of Policies and Procedures through your individual impact statements 1-1 meetings and your practice.
? Lead and support the Canopy curriculum to ensure a child-centered approach to all aspects of the nursery and ensure the observations and planning process meets the needs of all your designated key children.
? Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication with all stakeholders of the nursery and wider Canopy community including parent’s professionals and colleagues.
? Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are followed and continuously demonstrate behaviours that underpin a high performing safety culture.
? Understand the referral processes and when necessary, engage with professionals to make a child referral.
? To understand all safeguarding procedures and to make the Designated Safeguarding lead (DSL) aware of any concerns in relations to the Safeguarding of our children, families, or colleagu
? Working as part of a larger team to ensure all essential day to day tasks are completed in line with the nursery demands i.e. Hygiene standards and room preparation.
? Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers to support the retention and ongoing occupancy growth
? Continuation of personal professional development to ensure your knowledge and skills are up to date, full, and relevant to the role of a qualified Early Years Practitioner.
Responsible for:
? Completing accurate and effective assessments, which reflect the needs, interests, and stages of development of the child by effective delivery of the key person approach.
? Promote and follow guidelines implemented for managing behaviour and supporting children to manage their own feelings.
? Ensuring effective supervision of children to ensure they remain safe and well in line with regulatory standards.
? You recognise the part your play in ensuring robust procedures are followed for Policies and Procedures and the regulatory standards set by our regulator
? Delivery of highest quality Early Childhood practice and experiences for all children in the setting, including those with Special Educational Needs and/or Disability, emotional wellbeing by embedding the Canopy early years curriculum.
? Ensuring you risk assessing all areas of the nursery which children would have access to and ensure their play and learning experiences are safe and age appropriate. Lead by example in daily tasks of keeping children safe i.e., picking up coats, sweeping sand from the floor.
? Supervise and support in the preparation on of meals and mealtimes in line with policies and procedures and ensure high supervision of children is maintained at all times.
? Fulfil their roles, responsibilities, and legislation on duty in relations to safeguarding children by ensure that they have read understood and implement the Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
? Ensure that they have completed Child Protection training every two years as set out in the Child Protection Policy and that this training impacts on their ability to safeguard the children in their care
? Undertake regular 121 supervision meetings with families’ colleagues and professionals to ensure children within your key person group are meeting their milestones for personal development
? Take responsibility for own personal and professional development, accessing high level improvement activities that inform general and nursery based national and international improvement activities that inform perspectives of ‘best practice’
? Attendance at staff meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional
Essential Experience:
? Proven experience of working with early years educational settings with successful outcomes for children at ‘Good or Outstanding’ regulatory inspections outcomes
? Working in collaboration with colleagues in achieving positive working relationships through effective communications and the support of all members of the nursery team.
? A strong record of on-going training and/or professional qualifications since qualifying
? Strong decision-maker, with the proven ability to work as part of a team to ensure essential day to day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands i.e.. Hygiene standards and room preparation.
? Experience of food preparation and the completion of relevant training linked to food management
? Experience of child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures
? Highly motivated and driven, meeting deadlines in relation to children’s record keeping and assessment
? Current 12hrs Paediatric First Aid Certificate
